The Bare-throated Tiger-heron is a large but rather short-legged, primal-looking heron of mangroves and freshwater marshes in tropical lowlands.

Although an avid amateur nature and wildlife photographer for almost forty years it was only twelve years ago, when I finally went digital, that I had the idea to start emailing home blogs about our adventures to our grandkids. The list grew over the years as family and friends asked to be included in the adventures.
