Louisiana Waterthrush

The Louisiana Waterthrush is a warbler that breeds in eastern North America and winters in the West Indies and Central America. I was super excited to see this one at Forest Sewage Lagoons last week.

A large, plump warbler with a stout bill, rather short tail, and long pink legs. It is brownish above, pale below with dark streaks, and has a prominent white eyebrow.

Louisiana Waterthrush perch and forage in vegetation on or near the ground. Males sing mostly from low vegetation.
